A Historic Night at the Tower of London
This December, Hadassah UK in collaboration with Hadassah International, hosted a truly memorable evening at the iconic Tower of London, welcoming over 200 philanthropic, business, and professional leaders from around the globe. The event celebrated resilience and healing, showcasing Hadassah’s lifesaving work in Israel while highlighting urgent medical needs following recent challenges. This historic evening underscored the power of unity and collective action, leaving a lasting legacy for Hadassah’s patients and families.
The evening featured inspiring speeches from prominent figures, including Rona-Lee Shimon, Hadassah Global Ambassador and
actor from the hit series ‘Fauda’. As well as Sir Liam Fox, Chair of UK Abraham Accords Group.
Hadassah rehab patient Yonatan “Yonti” Bahat’s testimony was particularly moving. After surviving severe injuries, Yonti shared his journey through the transformative care of the Gandel Rehabilitation Center at Hadassah’s Mount Scopus campus in Jerusalem.
The Tower of London, with its profound ties to Jewish history, resonated deeply with attendees. The illuminated White Tower, bearing Hadassah’s logo and the theme “Feel History, Make History,” stood as a powerful symbol of our collective mission.
Attendees were captivated by the evening’s keynote speakers and the poignant performance by Israeli singer Achinoam “Noa” Nini, whose song “Beautiful That Way” from the film, Life is Beautiful reflected the event’s hopeful spirit – reminding us of how our actions can give strength and hope to others in the darkest moments.
David Waterman, Chair of Hadassah UK, described the evening as “a powerful reminder of resilience and healing. Hosting this event at such an iconic venue deepened our collective commitment to the incredible work of Hadassah.”
Support for the Gandel Rehabilitation Center
The focus of the evening was the Gandel Rehabilitation Center, a critical facility already transforming lives since its partial opening in January, but still incomplete with just three of its eight floors operational.
The need to finish this project is more pressing than ever – funds raised will support the completion of essential facilities, including physiotherapy and communication spaces, ensuring every patient receives the comprehensive care they deserve.
