Hadassah New Cardiac Centre

Hadassah Mount Scopus provides medical care for the diverse large population of northern Jerusalem and the many surrounding communities. Until the new Critical Cardiac Care Centre was recently built at Mount Scopus, most acute patients required transfer to Hadassah Ein Kerem, which delayed treatment for critical and unstable patients. Hadassah’s new Cardiac Centre has already greatly shortened the time needed for heart attack victims to receive life-saving care.

Technological Incubator Hub

Hadassah UK has taken on a project to create a “Technological Incubator Facility” within the Rehab Centre for innovative research and development of new ways to treat rehab needs, including using smart phones and apps. The Incubator will facilitate research, data collection and analysis within the department to evaluate and modify intervention programmes for patients in collaboration with technological companies connected to the field of rehabilitation.

Collaborative Research with the United Kingdom

Hadassah has achieved enormous success in stem cell clinical trials, including with neurodegenerative diseases like Multiple Sclerosis & ALS, cancer, heart disease, macular degeneration, diabetes and many others. With collaborative research with our UK partners, Hadassah doctors will be able to further ground-breaking research from “bench to bedside” that will both improve patient care and accelerate the discovery process both in Israel and abroad.

The unit features a child-friendly environment especially decorated to calm and reassure – most importantly, its outstanding team specialises in providing children with the highest standard of compassionate care.

medical clowning around

Hadassah Medical Clowns

In 2002, Hadassah pioneered medical clowning in Israel by bringing three clowns into Hadassah. The “Dream Doctors” Organisation have now developed this technique into a full para-medical practice integrated within hospital paediatric medical teams. Hadassah’s medical clowns channel the healing power of humour, bringing laughter to sick children, easing their fear, relaxing them and transforming their hospital experience.

Hadassah School

The Hadassah School serves hospitalised children and young adults, and creates new training template programmes tailored to their unique educational and medical needs. Our young patients learn about their disease and the medical procedures they will need, to help them understand their treatment in an interactive and informative way. Young patients benefit with help to cope with the stress and uncertainty of illness, pain, injury and treatment.
