Going home is only the beginning of recovery. Patients return to Hadassah for regular therapy – but with the Gandel Rehabilitation Centre still incomplete, there simply isn’t enough space. Many come less often than needed or leave treatment too early.

In addition, over a million Israelis are expected to need mental health care in the years ahead, with PTSD, depression and other trauma-related conditions surging across all age groups. As the main provider of psychiatric services in Jerusalem, Hadassah must urgently expand its facilities and programmes.
